Netflix julkaisee Chicken Run 2:n ja uuden Wallace and Gromitin, mutta elokuvia saadaan odottaa vielä pitkään
Aardman Animation, Nick Park ja Netflix puuhaavat jatkoa sekä Wallacen ja Gromitin että Chicken Runin tarinoille.
Netflix on Colliderin uutisen mukaan kertonut julkaisevansa uuden Wallace & Gromit -elokuvan, jonka ohjaa Aardman Animation -legenda ja Wallacen ja Gromitin isänä tunnettu Nick Park. Tulevaa elokuvaa saadaan kuitenkin odotella vielä hetki, sillä sen julkaisua tähdätään vuodelle 2024.
Uuden Wallace and Gromit -elokuvan synopsis kuuluu näin:
“Gromit’s concern that Wallace has become overdependent on his inventions proves justified, when Wallace invents a “smart gnome” that seems to develop a mind of its own. As events spiral out of control, it falls to Gromit to put aside his qualms and battle sinister forces – or Wallace may never be able to invent again!”
Wallacen ja Gromitin seikkailua ennen Netflix kuitenkin Colliderin mukaan julkaisee jatko-osan Aardman-animaatiolle Chicken Run, joka sai ensi-iltansa vuonna 2000. Jatko-osa on nimeltään Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget ja sen on määrä saapua iloksemme vuonna 2023.
Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget -elokuvan synopsis kuuluu näin:
“Having pulled off a death-defying escape from Tweedy’s farm, Ginger has finally found her dream – a peaceful island sanctuary for the whole flock, far from the dangers of the human world. When she and Rocky hatch a little girl called Molly, Ginger’s happy ending seems complete. But back on the mainland the whole of chicken-kind faces a new and terrible threat. For Ginger and her team, even if it means putting their own hard-won freedom at risk – this time, they’re breaking in!”
Tähän mennessä Wallace ja Gromit ovat seikkailleet lyhytelokuvissa A Grand Day Out (1989), Wrong Trousers (1993), Close Shave (1995) ja A Matter of Loaf and Bread (2008), sekä yhdessä pitkässä elokuvassa, The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, joka voitti animaatio-Oscarin vuonna 2006. Wrong Trousers ja Close Shave palkittiin aikoinaan lyhytanimaation Oscareilla.
