Sylvester Stallone tekee 10 vuotta hautomansa Rambo vs. hirviö -elokuvan ilman Ramboa
Pian vuoden 2008 Rambon jälkeen Sylvester Stallone ilmoitti aikeistaan tehdä elokuvan Rambo V: The Savage Hunt. Siinä Rambo olisi astunut uudelle maaperälle ja taistellut scifi-hirviötä vastaan.
Viides Rambo-elokuva ilmestyy ensi vuonna, mutta siinä Sylvester Stallonen esittämä veteraani ei taistele geenimanipuloitua monsteria vaan Meksikon huumekartellia vastaan. Rambo V: The Savage Hunt on siis haudattu – mutta ei ihan kokonaan.
Deadline-sivuston mukaan The Savage Hunt olisi pohjautunut James Byron Hugginsin Hunter-romaaniin. Nyt kirjasta on tekeillä varsinainen filmatisointi. Sylvester Stallone aikoo esittää sen pääosaa, tosin tässä versiossa hän ei näyttele enää Ramboa. Nyt roolihahmo on kirjalle uskollisesti nimeltään Nathaniel Hunter.
Vaikka Stallone on hautonut elokuvaa pitkään, ei Hunter-filmatisointi ole järin pitkällä, sillä elokuvalle etsitään vasta käsikirjoittajaa. Mennee siis ainakin pari vuotta ennen kuin Stallone pääsee näyttämään geenioikulle närhen munat.
Hunter-romaanin synopsis kuuluu seuraavasti:
