Muistatko Hugo-peikon 1990-luvulta? Pelisuosikki tekee maailman huonoimman comebackin

Taru Valkeapään juontama Hugo-peliohjelma on jäänyt monen muistoihin nykyisin hieman hekotuttavana ysäriviihteenä. Pian Hugo tekee comebackin.

Itse asiassa ”Maailman huonoimman comebackin”.

Tekeillä on nimittäin kansainväliseen jakeluun suunnattu Hugo-elokuva nimeltään Hugo – The World’s Worst Comeback. Sen tuotanto käynnistyy ensi vuonna ja elokuvateattereihin animaatio saapuu vuoden 2016 aikana. Elokuvan tekijöistä tiedetään toistaiseksi lähinnä yhtiöt. Ohjaajasta tai ääninäyttelijöistä ei tiedote tai juliste (alla) kerro.

Periaatteessa Hugo ei koskaan kadonnut mihinkään: hahmo on seikkaillut tv-ohjelmansa jälkeen useissa peleissä aina mobiilia myöten.

Award-winning production companies will bring the world-famous HUGO troll into big screen

AnimaPoint (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) is co-producing with Trixter (Munich, Berlin, LA) and Einstein Films (Denmark) and Anima Vitae (Helsinki, Finland) a 3D animated feature film called ”Hugo – The World’s Worst Comeback”. ‘Hugo’ has a budget of USD10Million and is meant for worldwide distribution and will start production in 2014 and aims to finish by 2016.

Hugo was a sensation and in the 90s it became the number one family entertainment game show on national TV in 40 countries. Watched by over 400 million people.

In 2008 Hugo the Troll was bought by Henrik Kolle the founder of Hugo Games Company (formerly known as Krea Medie). The company developed the first app game, Hugo retro Mania, which was “just” an app version of the old TV game and released it in 2011. With zero marketing the app gained over 500 articles and reviews across the globe along it’s way to getting downloaded over 12 million times. The nostalgia of the brand was still very much intact. In 2012 the next app, Hugo Troll Race, was released to similar success.

During 2013 Hugo Games partnered with Einstein Film and Anima Vitae to develop a Hugo movie.
