Vatikaaniin sijoittuvan Conclave-trillerin on ohjannut Netflixin All Quiet on the Western Front -leffasta tunnettu Edward Berger.
Focus Features on julkaissut ensimmäisen trailerin ja kunnon kasan kuvia Vatikaaniin sijoittuvasta Conclave-trilleristä, jonka pääosassa nähdään Ralph Fiennes kardinaali Lawrencen roolissa.
Hänen osakseen tulee yhden maailman vanhimman ja salaisimman tapahtuman järjestely, eli uuden Paavin valinta. Leffan synopsis kertoo alkuperäiskielellä seuraavaa.
”Conclave follows one of the world’s most secretive and ancient events – selecting a new Pope. Cardinal Lawrence (Ralph Fiennes) is tasked with running this covert process after the unexpected death of the beloved Pope. Once the Catholic Church’s most powerful leaders have gathered from around the world and are locked together in the Vatican halls, Lawrence finds himself at the center of a conspiracy and discovers a secret that could shake the very foundation of The Church.”
Fiennesin lisäksi elokuvaa tähdittävät Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, Carlos Diehz, Lucian Msamati, Brían F. O’Byrne, Merab Ninidze, Sergio Castellitto ja Isabella Rossellini.
Ohjaajana toimii Netflixin All Quiet on the Western Front -leffasta parhaiten tunnettu Edward Berger ja käsikirjoituksesta vastaa Peter Straughan. Elokuva perustuu Robert Harrisin vuoden 2016 saman nimiseen kirjaan.
Conclave saapuu Yhdysvalloissa teatterilevitykseen 8. marraskuuta. Suomen ensi-ilta ei ole vielä selvillä.
