Zack Snyderin Rebel Moon saa yllättävän esiosan ennen ohjaajan versioita elokuvista

Netflix kertoo julkaisevan esiosan Zack Snyderin Rebel Moon -elokuville. 500 vuotta ennen leffojen tapahtumia sijoittuva radiokuunnelman tapainen The Seneschal -podcast kertoo Jimmy-robottien alkuperätarinan.

Kuusiosaisen podcastin ensimmäinen jakso julkaistaan 29. heinäkuuta. Loput jaksoista ilmestyvät viikottain.

”Nyt kun näitte Jimmyt elokuvassa, niin haluan kertoa niiden tarinan – kuinka ne luotiin ja miksi”, Snyder sanoo Netflixin julkaisemassa videossa.

The Seneschalin ääninäyttelijänä toimii muun muassa Falloutista tuttu Ella Purnell. Mukana ovat myös Naveen Andrews, Alfred Enoch, Peter Serafinowicz ja Jason Isaacs. Virallinen synopsis kertoo alkuperäiskielellä seuraavaa:

”Long before the Motherworld battled the rebel army on Veldt, 500 years before Issa was reborn, Moa and its colonies were ruled over by a mercurial and brutish despot, the mad King Ulmer. Despised by his people but determined to hold on to power at all costs, Ulmer revives the lost prophecy of Issa as a balm for the masses. And with it, he orders a pair of renowned inventors to build a warrior knight unlike any before. Viime joulukuussa Netflixissä julkaistu Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire ja sen huhtikuussa julkaistu jatko-osa Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver saavat pidennetyt ohjaajan versiot, jotka sisältävät enemmän seksiä ja väkivaltaa. Niiden ikäraja on K16.

Pidennetyt versiot tulevat kumpikin Netflixiin 2. elokuuta uusilla nimillä Rebel Moon — Chapter One: Chalice of Blood ja Rebel Moon – Chapter Two: Curse of Forgiveness.
