Renny Harlinin vuoden 1999 Deep Blue Sea saa jatko-osan, joka on rehellistä b-luokan roskaa. 

Ensimmäisessä Deep Blue Sea -elokuvassa nähtiin muun muassa Samuel L. Jackson, LL Cool J ja Stellan Skarsgård, mutta huomattavasti pienemmällä budjetilla tehdyn kakkososan pääosissa esiintyvät Danielle Savre ja Michael Beach, keitä ikinä ovatkaan. Jatko-osaa kaupataan tietysti isoilla hailla ja vähäpukeisilla naisilla.

Deep Blue Sea 2:n on ohjannut Darin Scott (Tales from the Hood) ja se ilmestyy suoraan blu-rayna ja VOD-palveluiden kautta.
