Peliserverien alasajo

eDomen muinaisjäänne-tasolle jääneet verkkopelipalvelimet ajetaan alas.

Tähän on lukuisia syitä, mutta tärkeimpinä voidaan mainita mm. firman virallisen tuen loppumisen servereille jo vuosia sitten, adminien puute, adminointiepäselvyydet sekä raudan ikääntyminen ja hajoaminen. Lisäksi peliserverit eivät ole olleet osa eDomen strategiaa vuosikausiin, eivätkä ne tarjoa tällä hetkellä eDomelle sisällöllisiä hyötyjä tai vastinetta ylläpitoon käytetylle vaivannäölle. Niiden kehitykseen ei ole ollut resursseja ikiaikoihin eivätkä serverit ole olleet enää edes eDomen navigaatiossa, joten turha niitä on enää rääkätä, kituvia reppanoita.
Serverit kurautetaan alas lyhyellä varoajalla, eikä niiden perään kannata enää huudella.

Gameservers going down,

Dear gamers.

The ancient gameservers of eDome will be shut down in short notice. There are several reasons for this. Most notably the company ceased support for the servers years ago, there are problems with server administration and also the hardware is getting ancient and unreliable. Also, the game servers haven’t been part of eDome’s strategy for several years, and the necessary maintenance and upkeeping are not seen worthwile.
The servers will go down at any moment. Do not ask them back.
We may build something interesting later, but you’ll see information about that at eDome’s site, http://www.edome.net/.
